Political Advocacy
Opening Doors to the American Dream
Homeownership is foundational to our families, economy, and community. To sustain and create accessible homeownership opportunities, BIA partners with its members, Building Industry Association of Washington (BIAW), and National Association of Home Builders (NAHB) to address industry issues beginning in local jurisdictions and extending to state and federal law making.
Powerful Advocacy Begins with You.
You are on the frontlines facing the challenges of codes, laws, and regulations affecting your business, employees, and community. Help us share your story with decisionmakers. Start by letting our Government Affairs Director, Noelle Lovern, know your challenges.
Local, State, National
County Efforts
Our Government Affairs strategy begins in our local jurisdictions where we leverage well-
established relationships with elected officials and influential decisionmakers. We use our
deep industry knowledge to move the needle on important issues. Our faces are seen at
critical meetings and our voices heard through various channels.
Building Industry Group PAC
The political voice for the construction industry in Southwest Washington, BIG PAC works to
create a business-friendly environment by supporting candidates for office that are advocates
for housing affordability and construction, in general, as well as educate the public about
construction costs associated with government regulations, fees, and land-use policy.
